Always start by thinking and informing your supervisor that you have an issue and are troubleshooting it. Many problems can be resolved relatively easily and quickly if we stop to think them through. As a general guideline, all items start with the following three steps to ensure it’s not a power problem:
1) Check to see the unit is plugged in. Except for POS and ISP equipment, Unplug unit and plug in again firmly.
2) Verify the outlet unit is plugged into works by plugging something else into it and seeing if it works. Some outlets have a reset button on them, so check to see if that needs reset by pressing it.
3) Check the breakers in all breaker panels in restaurant. They should be labeled, but look for any “tripped” breakers. Tripped breakers will be approximately halfway between off and on. Look at any breakers turned off to make sure they are turned on.
4) If power is the problem and you can’t locate a tripped breaker, discuss with your supervisor the situation before calling for repair.
ISP/POS Computer and Register issues
1) Inform your supervisor of situation AND CALL DARRIN
2) Call ATOS 800-515-3636 if Darrin is unavailable and troubleshoot
3) Follow up as needed until item is repaired.
